About Us

The Last Ever Chicago's Biggest Liar Contest is a tongue-in-cheek tall tale contest in a unique venue, featuring quality storytelling, constant misdirection, and high production value.  The show is often referred to as a "theme park of lies," during which the audience is constantly confounded, confused, and delighted by a variety of surprises, twists, and special guests.

The contest is brought to you by the producer of popular monthly storytelling events This Much Is True, Story Lab Chicago, and Do Not Submit.

HISTORY

The Chicago's Biggest Liar Contest has a rich history, filled with colorful characters, intense drama, and even a  bit of controversy.  Unfortunately, no one thought to write any of this down for posterity.  The only records available are for the 43rd Annual Chicago's Biggest Liar Contest, which took place at Herdegen-Brieske Funeral Home in 2012, and the 25th Annual Contest, which took place at Ravenswood United Church of Christ two years after that.

THE HOST

Our Benevolent Leader Patrick "Patrick" Brennan has currently taken the form of a handsome man. He was sent to shepherd the weaker among us into a state of perpetual bliss. Word has it that he once scored a free ticket on 25 scratch off lottery tickets in a row, routinely transforms solids into a gas, and has demonstrated the power to moonwalk while still on earth. His background in animal husbandry and mastery of TV trivia make him uniquely suited to be the leader of the new world we look forward to creating.
